Emirates ranked 28 in the world to be the first in the Middle East and North Africa at the International Tourism Competitiveness Report issued by the World Economic Forum in 2013, however, the UAE took first place among the nations of the world in the field of sustainable development and the development of the tourism sector.

The report said The Emirates proficient in the tourism industry and perhaps the most important competitive advantages associated with as a regional and global center for travel and aviation, although the hotel rates where higher than their counterparts in the Arab and African countries.
It also launched Emirates Marketing and many bold and promotion campaigns and has adopted regulations and rules for the development of the tourism sector, especially as they are open to foreign investment and open to the world compared to the rest of the Arab and African countries. Emirates also interested in preserving the environment and improving this matter in the UAE much compared to previous years
